You're brave man. This trip sounds incredible. I love that amidst all the drawbacks of social media and technology it can be used for the sharing of life experience, which has so much more intrinsic value that most of what the internet is used for.

Love the updates! Curious, how are you getting internet access while you're way out there?

 

After Senegal wifi was pretty much non-existent, so I caved and bought a smart phone (my first one!) for $20 in Guinea.

Since then I buy a SIM in every country and use tethering off 3G. The SIM is about $1 (or less) and data is a few dollars per GB.
Speeds are massively fast - they have extremely good 3G infrastructure in most countries, but hardly anyone is using it.
