You have all the answers you need now. There is no true substitute for "on the job training". The more experience you get the better and more confident you will be. It's okay to stretch your limits once in awhile.

Basic rules are to approach at an angle, put your tire on the obstacle, and before you do any of these, get out of the truck and take a look at what you are about to go over, pick the line you want, and make a judgement call as to whether or not to try it. It's your truck after all.

Simple one: Put the tires on all the big things. Dont drive around them. Plce the wheels to lift the dif, axle and the bottom. Since we are all taught to drive around big things, like rocks, you have to break the habit. With a jeep you drive over stuff, all about tire placement.

Plus its more fun to drive over the top of everything. Feels good.

The best way to learn is through experience. Once you know your jeeps capabilities you will get stuck less often. Make sure to always go with some one and bring recovery gear so that you will be able to get unstuck if you do become stuck.

everything said and here is one more thing..
start with small obstacles get out and look at the clearance you have... and step up each time..
learn where to put things under your vehicle...

Lifts and bigger tires... etc just means you get stuck on harder obstacles.. not to say you won't want them... I plan on it once my other mods get put on first.....
if you do go alone make sure you have a shovel and high left jack..... just be prepared...
getting stuck can happen leaving you saying WTF....
