For cleaning purposes. They do suck on long hot humid days when your entire back side is completely soaked, and on cold nights like the other night when I hopped in in thin dress pants and no underwear, I screamed when my extremities touched the freezing plastic. Wait, was that too much info?

I do like them though and if I ever trade my jeep in, I will either get vinyl again, or put these seats in the new jeep.

I prefer manual but my next one will be an auto since I spend more time in traffic than on the trails. Either one works great off road.

Auto for me. Since my first Jeep, a 46CJ2A to my JK Unlimited. I've had mostely stick shifts. I've ad 2 autos. A Grand Cherokee now my JK. I would never go back to a stick again...
