I have these and am not impressed. I've had them several years and they are more trouble than they are worth. I intend to get the simple ones that you can put the gauge on while they deflate. Terraflex or other similar.

 

The psi range of the new model STAUN II had been extended, they work from as low as 3 psi.

Notice the included extra 4 springs, and use the set of springs which is suitable for the psi range you want - it'll be more accurate with the correct spring.

It seems to be well made.
The pressure gauge is 0 to just 60 psi (unlike the 100 psi or more on most inflators).
The lower range of the gauge makes it more accurate and easier to read.

Just after the gauge, I'll fit a T-connection, on which there will be an air valve for deflating, something like this:



This will allow momentary closing of the valve, for checking the deflation progress.
I'll probably also use a longer air pipe, so it can be used while standing.

 

I've got a 12 year old set of Staun deflators. They still work great.

 

I opted to spend the extra money on the ARB over the Currie for the nicer bag the ARB came with. I put extra cores and a tire gauge in it. It works so well 2 of buddies who borrow mine have bought them.

 

Totally agree, x2 - Monster valves are the only way to go. One of the fastest for airing down and airing back up when your done

 

I hear everyone talking about how "fast" this one is or that one is. What is the big hurry????? So it takes an extra 2 minutes to air down when you are staging

Put your deflators on and go on to doing other prepping...disconnect, have a snack or whatever.

Relax and take it easy...enjoy the scenery.

True, as long as the deflator(s) can be calibrated in advance to a specific pressure.

 

x2 on Staun, put them on and drive down to the trail head, eat a snack and/or disconnect your sway bars. Do anything you want, really. Worth the price.

 

Coyotes are really nice, too, and made in USA.
