Dude that thing is going to be a beast!

Did have to cut the tub and frame so I could put the ORIs at the angle I want them at. I also notched the frame so i would not hsave any rubbing issues. No pictures yet, but ying yang did capture some video.

Had to put new bungs in my front track bar. Ruff stuff finally got them to me, so I went over to a friend's house to borrow his welder so I could burn them in. Got the front track bar on and needed to check the clearance of the trackbar and trackbar bracket. Pretty happy with the results, and it still has alot of flex to go. With the small demonstration in the garage I was pretty happy with the way the ORI acted. Need to get an engine hoist over to the house and see what it can do. I ended up with more up tavel than I expected running 14 inch travel coilovers and staying fairly low. It is 78 inches to the top of the windshield frame.

Hi lift was maxed out and I still have a couple inches of up travel. So far the trackbar is clearing.

Happy on how the steering and track bar angles came out.

They are axles out of a 2002 F350. Yes I am running the electronics in the front. I bought the solid axle spyntec kit in the front instead of the ford factory unit bearings. The sensors bolt into the machined spindles on the solid kit with small modifications.

Just a little ruff sight now, I need to adjust the pressure in the rear ORI, but she handles like a champ with no steering stabilizer or hydro assist. Get your track bar and drag link angles right and no one should ever have a problem. Also the bias ply irok are probably contributing to the ride. At about 60 it rides like a cloud of titties, but it is the slower speed you feel.

Did you end up using the tj gas tank? Glad it worked out . I scrapped mine after a bad leak.

How come no ORI's up front:thinking: I'm going with 18" in the front and 16" in the rear....

Looks BA though dude

Expense :eek2: Actually I intially was going to go with coilovers all the way around, and ordered the front coilovers. I Couldn't work it in my head to fit out boarded coilovers in the rear with bump stops, limit straps, and a sway bar and make it look clean so I went with ORI in the rear. Plus coilovers are still better if you get them tuned right, but ORI are much easier to work with. I had the front rates figured out and ORI in the rear just made is easier to adjust. I really like the way it came out. 18" are freaking huge, I am interested in to see how you fit them in. Been keeping a close eye out for your build.

Less than a built pro rock 44

Gotcha Yeah all my buddies run ori and love them, but they have them custom tuned and crap. My fronts will be poking up through the hood a bit :D Looks good though man now go beat the crap out of it.

Don't worry it will be, but still got to get some much needed parts. Front driveshaft, brake lines, gears, and lockers, but it will get beat on.

Sweet. Your not to far from where I am in Huntsville. When I get mine done you need to come up here and wheeling. Nothing like north Alabama and Tennessee trails.

Awesome build, I see you put my money to good use.

I was thinking of doing roughly the same thing on mine but didn't want to lift it that much or run that large of tire and was afraid id run into clearance issues with the Ford 60.

I ended up snapping one of the factory rear shafts and didn't like the way the Detroit rode with the manual anyway so I put an ARB with 35 spline axles in the back as well.

I'm very happy with the setup now, and can still park it in the garage.

Went to HawkPride a couple weeks ago, was hot as hell but enjoyed the trails.

It is only 77 inches to the top of the windshield. It has roughly between 4-5 inches of lift, it will fit in any standard garage. Yes I did put your money to good use, how do you like the upgrade in the rear. Also did you sell the detroit, i have a buddy that may want to buy it.

My garage is low, with just the 2.5" BB and 35's I only have about 3" of clearance. I have some 3.5" springs I'm gonna put on next then some 37's if I still got room when my 35's wear out.

Love the rear, feels like stock again on the street, wife can drive it and doesn't complain.

I sold the Detroit to a fellow member of my club, it was sold before I even took it out. :D

I am just a fan of detroit lockers. My wife is short so she can barely get into the jeep, and she won't drive it.

Weighed this thing the other day with the top and doors off. 4600 pounds  Hoping to keep it under 5000 trail ready.

I liked it ok, I like the simplicity of it and lack of maintenance but it was a bit irritating on the street with the Manual, an Auto may have been better.

Also noticed that my turning radius was increased while off road since both rears were always pushing strait ahead, rather minor problem but was noticeable.

Getting off topic anyway.
