2Dr Expedition Mods - lets see them!
Great looking 2dr expedition rig! More pictures please!!!!!! Inside and out!
Managed to get some time back on the Sharpwrax now all the final bits have arrived Steve sent up some new rear brackets to replace the ones with the holes in the wrong place and also the awning brackets and rear light brackets, fitted the new rear brackets and they now work great, fitted the awning brackets and also the light brackets and put the rack back on the Jeep to see how it all looked, final thing to do was to see how well it tilted back as this was the main reason I went with Steve's Sharprax roof rack. Light brackets Awning brackets Now to to tlit the rack back I have to undo the 4 torX bolts at the front and 4 bolts at the rear and then just raise the rack. Right back It took two of us to get it right back but from this point one can hold it while the other folds down the soft top, I had to hold it where it was as it could drop further and im not sure if the hinge can go much more, im going to suggest to Steve that he makes some sort of leg that you can put under the back and take down to the rear bar that will hold it where it is so you can both remove the soft top while leaving the rack held in the vertical. Next we lowered the rack back and checked everything lined up, we had a small issue with the rear bolts being slightly out of alignment but with some fiddling we managed to get them back in, I have made a suggestion to Steve to slot these holes as this will help with alignment, within the hour he had made the changes to the master drawing, Steve has been great this way and has listened to all my constructive feed back and looked at my issues and dealt with them in a very professional manner, you cant beat that for service. So thats it all done, I'm very impressed with the rack for a SWB Jeep its the best option on the market for the price and really does become part of the Jeep once bolted on, it solid on the trails and does not rock side to side like some of the others, its built well and is made to last, it can carry a lot too and a roof top tent is a real option now, I will give it a 9/10 it has turned my SWB jeep into a Jeep we can easily do a couple of weeks away camping in now. I wont leave it on the Jeep all the time though as with all things like this it can add some wind noise to a car and its so easy to take off and put on it really only needs to go on for trips, next up is to get a 30" single light bar to mount to the front of the rack and then get all the lights wired up properly.
