Default AEV Snorkel w/ pre filter

Just installed my AEV snorkel! It took about two hours and cutting was a PITA but I took my time and it turned out awesome! Check it out!!!

Taped up:

Made the cut:

note: the right side of the cut isn't torn up, the light did something funy, its smooth!

After riveting in the trim piece, it still wiggled a bit so I pit some black silicone under it:

The finished images!!!:

Let me know what you think!!!!

A word to those who haven't worked with a hole saw or haven't worked on metal: go slow, don't push on the drill or you'll get mugged.

Thanks Dirtman, by the way I hope you know this is partially your fault. Your thread about the custom snorkle and a few other writeups i saw on snorkels got me hooked and I had to have one.

When you installed the pre-filter, did you have to cut the top of the snorkel? I have the same AEV snorkel with both tops and i want to use the prefilter soon but dont want to cut the top so the ram air wont work

I went ahead and cut the top. Not cutting the top will make it sit higher than your roof and there will be a gap because there is too much tube to set the pre filter on. Basically it'll work the same of you don't cut it, but it'll look even goofier.
