Spring Soon, after this little Storm coming our way
I've used the black tape to show the fender faces roughly the same height as the original Willys fenders, scaled up slightly because the JK is larger than the MB, but the tape is hiding about 1" of material that wouldn't have to be trimmed after the fenders come of the molds deeper sides were wanted.

They will be strong enough to sit on. The TJ version of these is strong enough to sit on, and those don't have the advantage of the factory fender brace that the JK has and the JK flat fenders make use of.

Perfect ! I've had Flat Fenders, from MB up, and love the Look, simplicity, and Function.
BUT, my "appreciation" for comfort , highway speeds , has the JK as a DD.
Now, the "Look", and function of Flat Fenders will be available.
Melding of Past, and Present.

It would be more correct to say "Now, the "Look", and function of Flat Fenders MAY be available." No commitment has been yet made by a company (or by me) to bring the flat fenders to market. There is one company that's expressed interest so we'll have to see where that goes once I make the molds and mold a pair or two of fenders for testing.

Even if yours don't get produced, the inspiration is there, you've given "instructions" DIYers can make these. Thank You !

I would love to see someone take on a fiberglass project based on my posts, and I'd be very happy to help them. I've been doing fiberglass Jeep projects for about 8 years now and documenting the projects in forum threads, and so far I'm not aware of anyone that's taken on a fiberglass project. The closest was someone who wanted to learn fiberglass who lived within about a half hour of me. He wanted a barn door for his JKU so I offered to teach him fiberglass - he used my molds in my garage under my supervision, and did 90% of the work himself on his own barn door. But other than that, I don't know of anyone who's tried fiberglass.

I'm working on laying out matching rear flat fenders. This first photo shows the outline of the fenders, the outside edge of the fender will be at the inside edge of the tape. The tape lines may look a little curved but they're actually straight, because of the cramped space in the garage there's some zoom lens distortion in this photo (notice the how the line between the top of the tub and hardtop is curved).

An approximation of the fender, trying to take into account the angle and perspective of the photo in the drawing of the fender.

A better concept drawing. The front fender is real, the rear is a drawing.

Yes, I already have a military trailer that will be a good match for the JK with the flat fenders, it's shown here behind my Wrangler pickup (I don't have a current photo of the trailer behind my JK Safari)...
