Totally "Self Contained". That feeling of independence is Priceless. I'll have to watch video of that tent going up, and back down, how easy is it for one person.
Tire Table looks simple and useful too.
Enjoy the trip home !

The tent sets up and stores pretty quickly. And the new door hinge steps make it easier to reach things like the window awning prop rods...

I haven't been given a date yet, but I'd guess they'll be available soon after the first of the year. And in addition to the hinge-mounted steps, I'm working on a few other hinge-mounted accessories so if people like them there may be other options available to go with the hinges.

On the way home from my trip I stopped in the Iowa80 truck stop and picked up a stainless steel step to try on the HD door hinges. I'm guessing most people would want the black steps, but perhaps some who like chrome/stainless accents would want these.

The hinges themselves are powder coated stainless, so it would also be possible to buff them to a shine.

Anyone like the idea of shiny stainless steps or hinges?

I put one of those on the back of my 1954 M38A1, there were holes, they bolted right on.
Great for climbing in the back when top off. Would be great for JK too, step Up, and In !

A month ago I tunred over the engineering drawings for the door hinge steps to the company, so those are now somewhere in the production engineering process. Another HD door hinge accessory I plan to build a prototype of is a Rotopax/Rubican container mount. Here's a concept image:

Below, the photo on the left is a full-size drawing taped to the dooor and on the right is the drawing. Rotopax containers in 1, 1.75, 2 and 3 gallon are oulined on the drawing as well as a 2.5 gallon Rubican. The bracket will fit on either the front or rear doors.

I'm also planning another design bracket which would hold a Hilift or other gear like a shovel, etc. Hopefully will get to building both of these later this week.

I think I'll stick with the black steps, but here's what they look like in stainless...

As part of removing all of the camping expedition gear from the Jeep today I removed the door hinge steps - in daily driving use I won't need the hinges so no point in having them installed, especially since it takes about 15 seconds to install a step. I did this 34-second video to demonstrate how the steps install, using a step, and how they remove.
