Default Dana 60 off a 2008 Super Duty

I'm about to purchase for 600.00 a front dana 60 off of a 2008 superduty for my 07 JKU, everything is complete with it and it comes with either 3.73 or 4.10, rotors, brake calipers and all, what would I need in order to make this work on my jeep??

If you search, there was a thread while back on here about River Raider launching a kit to make axles conform with the JK's computer module.

What do you need a D-60 for?
Want to run larger tires and decrease the possibility of tearing drivetrain up. If it's not too expensive compared to purchasing a prorock 44 or 60. Just exploring options.

The track is wider. You'll need the remove all hardware from your front axle now. Control arm brackets, trac bar bracket, coil bucket, and the drag link. Strip all the same off of the Dana 60. Mount all your removed stuff from your stock axle to the Dana 60. You'll need to get the Dana 60 positioned correctly under your Jeep. tack weld all the bracketry on, test fit it all. Includes putting the wheels back on it and putting the weight of the rig on them. Then verify pinion angle, caster settings, and bracketry alignment. You'll need a driveshaft mod because the DAna 60 yoke is bigger than the Dana 30/44 yoke. Control arms should be lined up to the brackets. You'll need an adjustable trac bar if you do not already have one. The mounting point will be further out with the wider axle. You'l need at least 3 or 4 inches of lift to get the fenders up off the rubber, your front tires are going to br a bit more outboard than they are now. And then there's the sensors that must be retofitted to the Dana 60 outers. You could probably buy the outers from Currie or another vendor already setup for the sensor. I think that most vendors have you running a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern. (Ford). So you will probably be changing out your rims.
If you can't weld, you'll need to find a shop/buddy to help you out. The grinding to remove the old bracketry from both of the axles could take up to a week to do. Or, you could buy aftermarket and just work on the Dana 60.

Have fun, and post pics!

Unless your really handy with a welder and doing fab work, dont start. Also to narrow it up and everything else is going to be a hell of a job. You have to be absolutly precise on all this stuff too. It too me about 10 hours to narrow my 9" for my camaro. It came from a full size van and was about 8 inches too wide. That is just the tube work alone and not even getting into all the other stuff.

I've done it in a yj. Just need the right tools and some time. It could be done in a weekend with a good helper. You need to know how to weld though.

I wouldn't narrow it though. Full length truck axles look and work great under a jeep.

I'll be doing the same thing this year.
