Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
They are cool, but you do sacrifice a ton of usable rack space. That's the trade off. Between that and my ARB fridge and stove setup with drawers, I don't have a whole lot of interior storage space or extra storage space, but if I'm traveling with only one passenger, I can still fold down the back seats.
Hmmm. Good data point. I just installed the MBRP roof rack extension and moved my overhead lights up front with that. And, as I expected, there's a lot more noise up there. Doesn't really bother me (it's a Jeep thing, LOL), but still wouldn't mind if I could make it more quiet. I've been thinking of replacing the rock guards with the KC polycarbonate (clear) guards, anyway, because I really don't care for the giant "KC" on the new rock guards. I think I'll pull them off and go for a run at highway speeds and see what happens!
Oh, BTW, for those who think they don't do much: Mine are all beat up from being hit with branches on the trails I run. One of them even has small sections missing where it's been cracked. Not too noticeable, but a lot better than a cracked glass lens.
Here's a recent pic since extending the MBRP rack (I was playing with my new camera's HDR effects) ...

Not to get too far off topic, but camera type? 5D? Just got a 5D Mark III. It has a built in HDR feature, but I heaven't gotten that far yet. Barely know how to use it, but getting there.
