Love those tents!! How do you find the interior head height? An Autohome (or one like it - CVT, James Baroud) has been on my wishlist for the last 12+ months... However I've always had concerns about the interior head room... my RTT (Teupi) has tons of room... I could probably kneel and still have room. I'm just not sure how much of an issue that would be, and whether that's worth the super fast and convenient setup/take down time.

I am exactly 6ft tall and I can sit with legs straight in front of me and upper body upright and still clear the roof by about 2 inches. I would probably not be able to kneel.. Your butt have to be on the matress in order for your head to clear the roof when you sit up straight. But I do not feel like I am cramped in there.. The tent has 3 larger doors with netting + another window with netting, so it seems very open when the doors are rolled up.
This tent is limited in height, but very spacious in matress area.
It is nice to be able to have all the bedding in the tent and fast deployment + I have heard from other guys running this kind of tent on their JKUs that their mileage stays the same and in some instances improves a little because of the aerodynimic shape for the tent shell (we'll see). But I am curious on how quiet or noisy it will be at freeway speeds.. That is my biggest worry, as I have to "commute" to my favorite playground (southern Utah) from California (~435 miles just to get to Zion NP from my house).

I have a friend (white JK and LR Defender in some of the pics I've posted) who uses some backpacking app on his iPad. I don't think it's as nice as Backcountry Pro, but I'm a diehard Apple hater. The only caution I would offer is to be sure to buy the cell-connected version of whatever Apple device you choose--those are the only ones with a built-in GPS chip. You don't need to subscribe to the service, but you need the GPS. To be honest here (admitted Apple hater that I am): I don't see what the point of a tablet device is if it doesn't have built-in GPS. Seems a significant omission to leave out knowing where you are. Having said that, Apple's sales numbers aren't hurting for that decision.

Thanks. Guess it'll stay on my wish list lol. Yeah, I can fit my bedding and pillows in mine... just not my super comfy thick thermarest (whcih is needed as the mattress blows). Still working on that one though.

I have the 3G Ipad. I was thinking of it for the ability to make a custom paper map. Batteries die, and you need a back up. I love tech but also a realist and would hate to put all my faith in a tablet.

Yes. As I wrote on my post on the previous page, I carry vinyl and paper maps. I don't recommend printing the same maps as on a tablet just because a different map may answer a question that the same map in two formats doesn't. I also don't care for paper maps if vinyl is available--I've been on runs where rain was a real problem.
