I mounted cage jerry can mounts, http://www.lexingtoncontainercompany...erry-Cans.html , on a piece of 1/4 inch aluminum plate. I counter sunk the heads of 4 Allen bolts to keep the bolt heads from rubbing on the bottom of the cans. I then mounted the can mounts/ plate to the Smitty Bilt side steps using u shaped pipe clamps. The nut for the pipe clamps are under the cans and I cut off the excess bolt length flush to the nuts. Since the Smitty Bilt side steps are chassis mounted the entire weight of the filled cans are on the chassis not the body or bumper. The can holders are about 3/8" from touching the sides of the fenders. I cut the fender flare mounting bolts from the lower rear portions of the flares and let them rest against the can mounts. So far no problems with rubbing the jeep body work or the flares shaking loose.

That's a Harbour Seal...they're quite common around here too; in fact, I had a baby one jump up on the deck of my sea kayak a few years ago. He took a nap while catching a free ride for a couple NMs. I couldn't bear to push him off until I started wondering if that was his momma following me.

Bruce I recognize a bunch of those places. I'm also glad to see it's not just my pictures that have the horizon ****eyed - and I took time to try and always get them horizontal.

What have you expedition guys found as a good gps? I am trying to decide to either in stall and aftermarket stereo/navigation head unit. Or is there a better seperate unit such as garmon, Tom Tom independent units?

I currently have a non gps jeep headunit.
