Tested a Car window sox on my rear door on my unlimited Wrangler. I am going to use this when I am sleeping in the vehicle, repells bugs, breathable, more difficult so see in, shelter from the sun. Cost only about 10 dollar on Ebay

Mark, you have any rust on your shrockworks bumper? I am so tempted to order them. 4 months from order to delivery.
Just being a puss on pulling the trigger. You have had them a while. Any issues so far.

 

I have a full set of schrock on order. The day after i order my jeep i order the bumpers and sliders. Style is great, but that is a personal call. Quality and fit is top notch. I have been using his products on vehicles for years and always happy. Approach and depart angles are one of the best. I highly recommend his products. It sucks to wait so long, but worth it. Currently I don't have a way to carry a spare (did lift w/35") and just have to anxiously wait. One thing I did which i would highly recommend is get rigid SR-Q lights for reverse lights instead of the $30 ones he offers. They are brighter, bulbs don't burn out and better for water ingress. You will need to order them thru him to have him do the custom mounting setup

 

No rust. I am pretty good about cleaning up dings, priming and touch up painting (Duplicolor semigloss black is a pretty good match for mine). Of course, I live in an area where roads aren't salted very much.

One thing you do need to stay on top of is the pin for the swing gate. The main pin that the gate hinges off of is bronze. There isn't a grease fitting, as on some other bumpers. I've never had that freeze. But, there is a locking pin that holds the bumper open. I've had it get frozen. A little WD-40 on occasion can avoid that. Also, if it does freeze up, open the gate and pound at it from below with a drive punch, working it with some penetrating oil.

What Spicoli wrote about LED back-up lights: I'd have done that had it been available when I ordered mine. Changing a bulb on the PIAAs I bought from them is a pain.

Mark, does your pin freeze up because of cold (water/ice) or seize up due to wear and friction? Just curious for maintenance.

 

The big pin that the gate swings on has never frozen up on me--other folks with other bumper brands have had that problem and posted about it here on JKF. The small pin that is supposed to drop down (spring tensioned) to hold the gate sometimes doesn't drop down. Usually I just need to give it a gentle push and maybe a squirt of WD-40. Once, recently, it froze in place. I had to take the hammer and pin punch and PB B'laster to free it. Now it works like new. It's just a matter of staying ahead of corrosion on that pin. The spring isn't that strong that's supposed to force it down.

WD-40 actively causes rust. You may want to consider a Graphite Lubricant.
Good for temperature extremes and doesn't attract dirt like oils or greases do.

I've had good experience with the CRC as oil replacement, in severe sand storms and at freezing temp'.
