It bolts through the hard top, to the factory roll cage...

From AEV's description: " The Roof Rack utilizes mounting brackets that pass through the hard top and attach securely to the Jeep’s roll bar. This creates a very strong, secure mounting system that evenly distributes the weight of your cargo directly to the roll bar, placing no load on the hard top itself."

Ahhh thank you. I'm not ready to give up top off action until I have added a 2 door to the fleet.

Check out Rhino Racks. It is basically the same roof rack, but mounts to the hardtop so it comes off with the hardtop without a ton of extra work. It and MBRP are on my list when I get a roofrack.

That has to be one of the cleanest air systems I have seen. You wouldn't happen to have a drawing for any of it would you, or did you just measure as you went? I am looking at doing something similar, but just for storage.

Never mind I just saw your build thread over at expedition portal. Very nice work.

Thanks: yes I more or less just cut first and asked questions later, made a cardboard template of the box and paper template of the floor. Could be a very handy storage spot.
