Worth doing. They aer only using thin oil to meet café regs.

Default Marvin Trail Rack

Anyone have any feedback on the Garvin industries trail rack (the one that sits over the spare tire) for a JKU? It's looks versatile.

Cheers!
Dave

I love this tread, so many awesome Jeeps and ideas.

Here is a pic of the Jeep mostly loaded for a 5 day trip to the Maze District of Canyonlands NP. This was the first use of my newly installed Frontrunner cargo slide and shelf. There were still a few more things i had to add like the ARB fridge, and last minute stuff. It was amazing how well everything fit and was pretty easy to access.

I really like that update us how the shelf and slide works out. I've been looking at all the different rear cargo area options, haven't seen that one yet.

Dual battery folks- is there really any need to run the "connected" LED light into the cab when the Cole heresee has one built into the unit? I've got the benchmark designs setup and I've got a new isolator ready to go in tomorrow. The self help button will be installed once I find a momentary switch that doesn't look out of place in a jeep with very few gizmos and gadgets.

Actually that's an old pic I just finally got around to posting, I love the set up, its sturdy and quiet. One of the best camping additions I've made. I looked a a lot of options before I ordered this set up. If I had to start over id go with the same set up. Rolls smooth even with a lot of weight on it. The frontrunner stuff is really nice.

I am running a coleman thermoelectric cooler. I am going to make a little slide for mine when I get the teraflex interior rack. Its fairly light even loaded. I am hoping that with the mods I am doing to the cooler, it will stay cold when unplugged for a time. I unplug it when stopped as it is very power hungry. I am doing the silver lining mod, and I line it with Icepaks so it should stay good for a few days! I am looking for a solar panel that will keep the batteries charged while running that. My cooler is smaller than most fridges so I should have enough room with it under the teraflex interior rack.

I've thought of running that to an LED on the sPOD controller because it lets you know the aux battery is charging. I find between overlanding trips that it doesn't get charged because home usage is usually short trips that don't quite charge starter battery. As for boost switch, I put mine right next to isolator, not in cab. My thinking: First thing I do when engine doesn't crank is raise the hood. Why bother running wire to inside switch?

Hmm, I like the idea of a switch under the hood with just an indicator in the cab. I don't mind drilling a small hole for an indicator LED......a 3/4" hole in the dash for a switch is another story, the spod hasn't magically appeared in the mail yet.

Thanks Mark!
