Hey mark I was just curious but about how much do trips like that typically cost. I live here in okc and would like to go
To some of these places but don't really imagine going to moab or places like that far away would be very cheap. Not to mention I only have a stock sport for now so I wouldn't wanna get in over my head ya know.

This might have been a pretty challenging trip on the stock SRA tires that come on a Sport. There was quite a bit of mud. Having larger tires--33s--and MTs or ATs would have helped a lot. Not saying a Sport couldn't do it, but the mud would be a problem. You'd definitely want recovery points on the Jeep, front and rear. Other than that, you also can't be wanting to keep your paint pristine. I can assure you that my Jeep has a lot of trail rash from this trip. Haven't washed it, yet, but I can see it on the windshield frame. This trail was narrow with lot of tree limbs reaching into the path. Finally, I say I spent about $200 on the trip. $50 for my share of the food on the trail, $25 for meals on the road, and $125 for gas. Of course, I didn't suffer any trail damage that will cost me money. A cut tire sidewall, like one Jeep had, could easily cost $325 to replace the tire. And that's always unpredictable.

All in all, it sounds like a great time.... unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, there is nowhere near me to take this kind of trip...

Is that the Gobi rack and AEV rear tire carrier? I'd heard they don't work together.
