Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
My old tents are in dire need of replacement. I'm looking for a 1 person and a 2 person tent that can handle all kinds of weather and will most importantly will last. Any recommendations from you guys?
I purchased REI tents (two man and a family tent) and have nothing but good luck with them. Despite being called a yuppie for shopping at REI, their quality is excellent!
I love my two man NorthFace tent. Bass Pro had them on sale for about $100 and its held up very well.
Concerns about grizzlies? Don't camp in the Spring, Summer or Fall, camp in the winter! That's what I do and no snakes or bugs!
That's oustanding. Congrats! I just finished up the Beehive B-sides and loved it. Also, your "Why we Overland" video was spot on. You ever do any overlanding though Montana?
cheers!
Dave
Not yet. Well, not exactly. At the end of the Al-Can trip Ray mentioned he'd never been to Glacier NP. So we entered the U.S. at Chief Mountain (it's in the park), then the next day drove Going to the Sun Road. Ray shot video of the trip, but I mostly shot stills (did get some great video of some young big horn sheep doing mock fights, though). But the road was slammed with traffic. And, of course, it's all paved. So I doubt I'll ever put together a video of it. Other than that, haven't really overlanded Montana. Yet. :-)
I like ARB products, and that's probably the one that most folks have. But I replaced mine with this one, and the difference is huge. Not only does this one have materials for more difficult repairs (such as a Baja patch), but the top-notch quality of the tools is immediately obvious upon opening it up and just looking. Pricey, and only you can decide if you wish to spend that much, but I highly recommend for serious overlanders.

So hopefully next summer I can convince her and if not, maybe rent a teardrop trailer and head out there.
