Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
I ran the 315 load range E Duratracs for a few years. I really did like them. I had one flat tire with them, on White Rim Road in Canyonlands National Park, caused by a rock penetrating the sidewall. Not reparable. My friend Ray has traveled a lot with me across North America, had Duratracs which were a 33" equivalent, load range D. He has had several flats, including one north of the Arctic Circle on the Dempster Highway and another north of the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway. One was caused by a metal rod. The other by a piece of blunt rock, which literally fell apart as we extracted it. We've both switched to BFG KO IIs for the stronger resistance to punctures. My chief complaint with the KO IIs is common for aggressive ATs and all MTs: On wet pavement, they are pretty slippery. I'm not trying to talk you into or out of any decision, just offering up a couple data points.
Thanks!
I've added a new "A Closer Look" video to my YouTube channel.
Atigun Pass is well-known to anyone who has driven the Dalton Highway in Alaska. It crosses the Brooks Range at an elevation of 4,739 feet. Located at the head of the Dietrich River, it is where the Dalton Highway crosses the Continental Divide at mile marker 244. It is the highest pass in Alaska that is maintained throughout the year and is the only pass in the Brooks Range that is crossed by a road. Subject to avalanches during winter, the pass has been the scene of many single vehicle accidents.
A Closer Look videos are where I can share excess content that was not used in the original trip video series. They lack context to tell the story of the trip, or even about that small piece of the trip. That's done in the original video series. They are created without music and voice overs, though forced subtitles may be used on occasion. So, these are best viewed after seeing the original series.

Another A Closer Look video. This one is Lathrop Canyon in Canyonlands National Park. An offshoot from White Rim Road, it is the only way within the park to reach the Colorado River ...
I was thinking with summer here and people getting out, at least our little town is busy, there would be more post about ones adventures, thanks pnw_jk and Mark. I am still catching up from being down for two months and a new truck being set up for a Pony Express trip in Sept, so I was hoping to see where others have gone.
