oh, I meant garmins topo software, not the jeep software.
So far it has been working great and I agree that a 7+ inches screen is great. Here's another shot.
My next step is looking for higher resolution maps. I'll try the Garmin Topo maps I use with my Vista eTrex, which has a very small screen and I have to keep zooming in and out. This works OK if I am on foot but not good for driving.

Just downloaded the Oruxmaps this morning after reading this thread. Real nice app! I use my Garmin 62s in my JKR, but it is hard to use while driving.

I like the idea of a tablet mounted in the Jeep with this app. I'm thinking about buying a tablet just for this. Can anyone tell me will any tablet work or will I need a higher end unit to work as a dedicated GPS unit. I understand it will need to have built in GPS.
I'm using open source topo maps that I download for offline use with the Oruxmaps app.

Good, busy THE SUN IS OUT Jeep weekend. Projects time:
Oil change
Checked control arms torque
Drilled speed holes in the rack upper gussets
Bedlined the rack, resprayed corner armor and rear body quarter panels; all but the windshield bar and upper rails are done. Ran out of go go and bedliner.
