What type of bumper is that? I've been looking for one similar and they are just not around.

its satin, and it has stuck to powder coat for years, and it hasn't faded, so touch-up is a simple spot spray

oh, I meant garmins topo software, not the jeep software.
I'm using open source topo maps that I download for offline use with the Oruxmaps app.

So far it has been working great and I agree that a 7+ inches screen is great. Here's another shot.

My next step is looking for higher resolution maps. I'll try the Garmin Topo maps I use with my Vista eTrex, which has a very small screen and I have to keep zooming in and out. This works OK if I am on foot but not good for driving.

Just downloaded the Oruxmaps this morning after reading this thread. Real nice app! I use my Garmin 62s in my JKR, but it is hard to use while driving. Click image for larger version

I like the idea of a tablet mounted in the Jeep with this app. I'm thinking about buying a tablet just for this. Can anyone tell me will any tablet work or will I need a higher end unit to work as a dedicated GPS unit. I understand it will need to have built in GPS.

Good, busy THE SUN IS OUT Jeep weekend. Projects time:
Oil change
Checked control arms torque
Drilled speed holes in the rack upper gussets
Bedlined the rack, resprayed corner armor and rear body quarter panels; all but the windshield bar and upper rails are done. Ran out of go go and bedliner.
