Nice! I would be all over it except I just bought a mygig. Sure looks good though.

Was pricing up a bigger GPS unit but for an extra hundred dollars (NZ) got the 32Gb 3G ipad with the built in GPS. Have had an iphone for a while but couldn't see the need for an ipad- got to say I'm a fan now

the mount shown does work in conjunction with the stock head unit. I've seen another setup where the iPad becomes the head unit. does anon know who makes that one?

Also, what does a my gig/nav head unit from an 08 go for used?

I was a bit worried about the clamp working loose over extended bumpy trails so fixed a screw with a wingnut through the clamp faces. I'll just leave the base mounted permanently now and tighten the swivel onto the ball joint when I want the ipad in the truck. Angle of clamp is due to it wedged up against step in console so can't rotate around the screw. Very happy with the setup now.

Went 4wding over the weekend. The topo map on the ipad was great. Only thing I needed to do was turn the auto rotation to lock as some bumps and corners caused the screen to flip which is expected and turn off the auto power down. Mount held up very well we had a good rut section with some decent sized holes so I'm pretty confident in teh mount now. Was kind of fun to be able to easily check and reply to emails. Little USB plug in cigarette lighter did not provide enough juice to charge but the Narva Powercup does so ran the ipad cable down the centre of the coiled power cable, nice and tidy. Ran music through the ipad so won't even bother mounting the iphone next time for an even cleaner set up.

The Cop4x4 is a nice product but for me I love the flexibility of this mounting system, having it low and angled towards me (especially when typing emails) plus full access to the stock radio.

Looks like a joy factory mount. Heard good things from them.
