Jeeps in beautiful places
Trails? I make my own trails!
It's a big hunting and recreational area. Some of NC's largest black bears are around that area. There are tons of deer, wildcats, turkey and other game. The New River State Park is about 15 miles north where we go kayaking, canoeing, tubing, rock diving and hiking. The designated trails are mainly for small ORVs, so they're a bit tight, but there's plenty of "undesignated" trails for the Jeep to go on - they're just a bit untamed - I'll need a winch and some recovery gear before I explore those. Uwharrie National Forest is only about 2 hours away and there are some good trails there - plus there's always a group of Jeepers riding there.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about a mile from our house, so I like to take my bike and ride the Parkway for a few hours - usually during the summer. I hate riding in the cold.
We'll be there this coming weekend through new year's. Wake up to see the sunrise each morning and supper is served at 7pm. Don't be late!

As far as having recovery gear, I would say it is a must have, especially if you are heading out with only one Jeep. Of course you are much better off having at least 2 Jeeps out on the trail.
Anyway, congrats on the new place, it looks awesome!
I HATE this thread SOOO much!!!
Every single picture makes me hate crappy New Jersey even more. I so want to get out of this hell-hole.
This is all you see 98% of the time when you're driving around

No mountains, scenic rivers, etc. Just freakin' pavement. And god forbid you drive off of it -WHAM! Ticket.
Sorry for the rant. Just a hater.
PS. Just love the pictures of Tibet and Romania.

Heh, we had a bear attack someone last week at work. Nothing serious, just funny.
For the record, after you shoot the bear, do not go up and kick it because it might not be dead. Also, don't fire all your rounds before you kick it. Bears are already angry, angrier after being chased by your dogs, and angrier still if you shoot them.

I want to train them to do this:

Just kidding.
