Default Magnacharger

I just finished installing my Magna supercharger on my 2012 JKU today. I was hoping for a little more "seam of your pants" feel but overall I am pleased so far. I've already ready looked into a fogger kit for it. I guess I should remember is a 3.6L. Anyone else out there running one of these yet?

Ol boy on the front end there made the tire flat- no wonder you're not feeling the power. It should make your tires roll a little nicer at speed when you punch it.

I had a couple hours to mess with the Diablo tuner today that came with the Magnusen charger. This was by far the most frustrating part of the install. I've been playing around with the parameters a bit. I was disappointed when I found out I couldn't change the shift firmness at all. Of all the features, it was the one I was looking forward to the most (except the obvious tune). I did try out the 0 to 60 function. I bested at a 6.91. Not bad for 4 door auto with 37" Nittos. All in all pleased. I will take it to the dunes Friday and see if the investment was worth it.

I installed a magnuson on my 3.8L. I agree - I too was looking for more of a seat of the pants feel but I can't complain at all. It drives like a different vehicle and performance is night and day. Click image for larger version

ID:	544345 Without pushing it hard, I dropped 3.67 seconds off of the original pre-SC 0-60 times of over 11 seconds and got to 60mph in 232 less feet than prior to the engine swap, headers and SC install. The torque feels far more impressive. I have not off-roaded yet but it did climb the 4' pile of snow at the end of my driveway without any problems whatsoever. Felt much stronger than before. In fact I was very tempted to go right over the top and into my back yard. The jeep runs at about 2200 rpm at highway speeds now and there is plenty of passing power. It actually feels like the engine can breath now. If you have ever had asthma, you know what I mean. My jeep can breath now! My o-60 time was just over 7 seconds and I know there was more in it if I had just floored it and left it there. Original pre-sc time was over 11 seconds! Totally agree on the tuner. I also feel that the magnuson tune could better on shift points. I plan to talk with them next week at EJS.

What's a fogger kit?

Fogger / A dry nitrous kit. I think I could safely get away with a 75 shot. Just for out of the hole.

I finally drove it on the highway to my office today. I was just cruising normal to see how it all felt. I am a bit disappointed. I do not think the mapping is all it could be. It felt like it was missing at different rpm points. I basically would take of from a stop at a typical driving speed, leaving my foot in the exact same throttle position and it was noticably hesitating anywhere between 1800 and 2700 rpm's depending on which gear I was in. It also held 4th gear forever and it didn't want to shift even after completely letting off the gas. It eventually would go into 5th / overdrive but it was odd and consistant. I am not sure if it is a Diablo issue or a Magnusen tune. I guess since Magnusen was the one who emailed me the tune after sending them the stock mapping, I am going to start with them on the issue. Day 3 and still hopeful.

I haven't heard of too many others with this kit yet but would love any others input or experience with the 3.6 Magnusen.

I had a diablo tuner prior to my install of the Magnuson supercharger on my 3.8L. I also used one on my gmc with a 6.2L. Both were awesome and there is multiple tunes to select from. I don't think it is the diablo. I think it is the tune that Magnuson provided. I have some odd things with mine as well and was advised by Magnuson that they are still fine tuning it to address some of the issues you mentioned. Mine will actually kick in to lower gears too soon around 40-45 mpg which results on a loss of immediate power while in traffic. Annoying. More annoying is the fluctuating throttle when using cruise control. It is not real noticeable but once you feel it, it is really annoying. They were well aware of this one and indicated that they are working on it.

Thanks for the response. Funny you say that Magnusen is aware of it and working on it. That is the exact response they told me today. I had sent them an email with my concerns. They said if I was running different gears and / or larger tires (which I am) I could experience the symptoms I described. They said even though I have the option of changing these parameters with the Diablo I shouldn't because it was a problem that they were working on. If I needed to recalibrate I had to buy an AEV Pro Cal to correct. Are you fricken kidding? They want me to buy yet another tuner device to correct an issue they were completely aware of when selling me their charger kit that included the Diablo tuner that apparently has an issue that they are working on. Kind of a slap in face. I told them it was calibrated originally via laptop and GPS and I didn't need to change anything after the tune was installed since the gears and tire size already existed in my stock tune that I emailed them. They did send me an "updated" tune today to try. They said there were a few updates since my version. This too is funny since I just recieved the original tune this Monday. I guess a lot can happen in 3 days. LOL. I am heading to the dunes in morning and don't feel like trying out the new tune in case it's worse until I get back in town. I still excited to see how the extra power does.
