2 reasons that I like that others may not agree with. But reason enough for me.

1. Lots of sidewall on the tire with the smaller wheel

2. Tires are considerably cheaper.

There are plenty of other reasons you'll see not to get 15s. But these 2 reasons were enough for me to get the 15s

 

Price was a huge selling point for me too.

 

Has the highway ride changed with the larger side wall ?

 

Wasn't the sidewall that really changed the ride. If you air the tires down, sure that would change the ride. But it would also wear your tires and kill your gas mileage.

What changed the ride for me was better shocks when I put my lift on.

Larger Sidewall is more for offroad.

 

Why did they put your weights on the outside of the wheel instead of the inside?

 

I just bought a set of 35x12.5x15 fro my Jeep. I cant wait to install them. Ive got to buy a lift and wheels but I couldnt turn down the deal on these tires. So, my question after reading all these posts. Is there no one that makes any kind of steering upgrades if I run a 15 on my jku?

 

Well, you can use the Rock Krawler tie rod. It uses the stronger drag link Pittman arm joint on both ends of the tie rod. I use the synergy tie rod. It only hits the inside of the rim when I push it against a rock or something. I'm using American racing AR 23 wheels. 15x8 with 3.75 back space. I believe the Rk one is a better fit, but costs more because you need to buy 2 drag link ends.

 

From what ive seen most people with the 8" wide wheels run 4" bs and the 10" run 3.75. What made you decide to run 3.75 on your 8" wheel and what difference did that decidion make in the outcome?

 

 

Honestly, after my first trip wheeling at Rausch Creek I knew I wanted something simple and cheap. I saw alot of really nice expensive wheels get screwed up. I liked the style of these wheels and they were 100 bucks each from Amazon, including shipping. The 3.75" backspace actually allows you a little more clearance for tie rod ends. I wasn't thrilled about the backspace at first, but really like how it has turned out. Hope that helps.
