If you didn't get muddy, then you weren't stuck!

lmao@ "if you have ever dug out a vehicle" oh that is priceless.

<--- Niagara New York, as in snowbelt of the east, as in Blizzard of '77, as in Buffalo NY...

I have shoveled out more stuck vehicles than i care to remember, fully half where stuck in the mud UNDER a foot or 3 of snow.

Other places get snow too, many worse than us, but we get it in huge piles all at once.
~gotta love it.

Yeah but they pave a lot of the main roads over that way, don't they? And does anyone know what this new fangled stuff, I keep hearin' of, is? I think its called asphalt.

Yes, they did that once, until Albany found out about it and took away all the extra money. Now we drive on asphalt-littered pothole roads.

Thanks for all of the comments. The shovel will be mostly for sand so I'm not too worried about getting my interior dirty. The spare tire mounting solution did not work with my bike rake so that wasn't an option for me. I like the clean and not so in your face look of having the shovel hidden from the outside.

I will try and post a short write-up on the install on the first page for those who are interested either today or tomorrow.

Thanks for the further details on install.
I just got all the parts and things are a "go" for this weekend.

One thing I'm going to try is to mount an axe below it. I ordered two sets of the brackets and just picked up a Fiskars axe (mid size and lite)

We'll see how it goes.... Thanks again for the idea.
