What was done to your JK this week?
Installed my custom front winch bumper a couple days ago. Added my MBRP light bar and now need some more lights! Now just have to finish wiring up the XRC10 Comp!

An unusually warm Saturday, so I decided to do armycop's six dollar dash upgrade (which, as someone else mentioned should really now be called the 7 dollar dash upgrade). Three of my vents came out perfectly easy with the quarter-turn method; one was a little stubborn and kept catching on the way out so I very carefully coaxed it free with a flat-head screwdriver. The first coat had me worried (even though I had cleaned them well), but by the fourth coat they were looking good.
all out
rings
I also wanted to do the gauge cluster, but taping was tricky, as I only had duct-tape on hand - not the best for masking, and as you can see I'll have to redo the cluster cause parts of the paint stayed with the duct-tape. :(

I also wanted to do the shift boot bezel (as opposed to paying 60.00 for the aluminim one), but since it and the boot are really one piece I had to get creative with the masking. I had read on another forum about using playing cards when working on fender flares and wondered if this method might work on the boot - it did great!
masking
unmasking
I could tell immediatly, though, that the bezel was reactiving differently to the paint - doh! forgot to clean it first.
You can't tell here, but I'll have to sand and redo it as well, it didn't turn out near as well as the vent rings - lesson learned.

Still, all in all, I love the way it turned out!

Next up, an even more difficult one: cleaning out the center console!!!
