What was done to your JK this week?
Just finished spraying key spots on the frame, suspension and underside with Rustoleum Rust Reformer. I also coated some previously treated spots with Rustoleum flat black enamel spray paint. Gotta get it ready for the winter salt bath.
I also did something I've been meaning to do for several years. I sprayed Rustoleum 1200 degree grill paint on the muffler. It looked like crap with surface rust on it. It looks great now. Hopefully, it this paint will hold up. It should have no problem if it can handle being on a grill.
Next up: Front Mopar splash guards. I'll be keeping those on in the winter to reduce salt spray on the underside of the rockers. I've talked to other JK owners with them and they say it dramatically reduces spray up onto the doors and body, too.

I have one for my wife 2 but I tied a length of para cord through the hole so she can pull it up ... So I don't drive over it !!!
Last weekend, I was able to knock out spraying the top with Duplicolor Bed Armor. It took about 2 hours total with prep and spraying. I used a Shutz spray gun which was super helpful. You can see in the photos the method of prep. I was pretty committed to doing the prep perfectly.
I used a power hand sander with scuff pad to take down the clear and get a good surface for adhesion. I used Duplicolor Paint Prep and tack cloth for cleaning prior to spraying. There isn't much need to be particular about small specs and dust staying because the Bed Armor goes on so thick that you wouldn't notice anyhow.
I then shot the tops with two decent coats of the armor at about 50-60psi. I did them about 30 minutes apart... They suggest more time between coats, but I also planned to leave it in the heated garage for a couple days so I wasn't worried about total dry time.
I am super stoked with the results. The total cost me about $140 with prep supplies, armor, and the gun. My neighbor is going to do the same thing for the bed of his new Sierra, he was pretty impressed.
I will be doing this to the fenders, bumpers, and maybe the grill in the next few weeks. I am thrilled with the look. It gives it a very tough look.
