Well it didn't last a week with the vents on my hood painted red. I then painted the side vents flat black and left the top vent red but that only lasted a day. So now I painted the top vent gloss black. Should've never painted the vents red but you never know until you try it.

I like the airiness of the white too, I would need to sit in a painted one for a little bit before I could paint mine. The black looks nice but I'd hate feeling closed in.

As long as you can reprint them fairly easily, I think a dark charcoal might look good with the blackout you have. BTW, the all black works really well

Edit - that's re-paint, d$*n spell check :(

Well what's the difference with any other car that has a black interior? Do you feel closed in when you're in a car with black interior? After I painted mine black you can't tell a difference. It looks a hell of a lot better with a black Jeep having a black interior.

What we are saying is the white makes it feel more open. A room painted dark vs a light color will appear smaller.

I actually like the white on the inside of the hardtop, just my opinion.

I did my 2010 black, lasted about a month before I painted it white again. Felt like a dungeon, small and dark. I left my 2012 white.

Everyone's honest opinions would be greatly appreciated. The last two pics are the original black.
I dig it bro... Red and black is my shit! ... Except my jeep is yellow....

Do you leave the Maglite in when running no doors?? Or stick it somewhere as to not be stolen?

And now you have a nice and thick coat of paint on them.

It's definitely personal preference. I have both. The hard top is white but my soft top is black (twill so really black). I prefer the black myself. If I want airiness in my Jeep I drop the soft top. I do agree it makes the interior feel smaller, almost cramped in the back, especially since I have a 2 door, but my dog doesn't seem to mind, and neither do I. But my wife is happy with the white in her JKU.
