I won't do black. I think it would look bad ass but I also wouldn't want the heat radiating down on me.

The Family got me some Mammoth 8's for Fathers day. I did not like the stock steel wheels at all, but my tires were nearly brand new. Had to compromise and get new rims. I will go with 33's once these 225's wear out.

The stance is so much improved as the tires actually stick out from the fenders now. The silver and black compliment what I have. Jeep waves have increased.

Next up: tinted windows, black out grille, and stubby front bumper.

How do you like the Aries Fenders? Was thinking of asking Santa for some Poison Spyder Aluminums. I could be persuaded to another set. They look great. Spyders are pricey.

Thanks.

*Sigh* Absolutely nothing. Waiting for some PSC bumpers front and rear as well as a PSC tire carrier. I seem to be getting near "rip-off" quotes for power-coating and Line-X coating. Need to source a new place for powder-coating around here.

It's crazy how much variation there is in powder pricing. When I got quotes for my Crawler Conceptz front, prices ranged from $70 to more than $400! Good luck in your search.

Thanks Wolf! That is in fact EXACTLY what I found..............

First place I went quoted me OVER $900 for full all three bits; powder coat color..........full powder coat primer..............and of course sand blasting. $900!!!!

I almost lost it. Figured out this was a "hot rod" specialty type shop. I ended up consulting a place called Trail Performance Coatings Inc. He relayed the types of powder coatings they offered, and indicated he did PSC stuff ALL the time. He also got me the type of coating I needed for max durability (I realize NOTHING not even Line-X is perfect and will eventually chip up somewhat).

All for a quoted price of $150 for the front, $100 for the rear, and $75 - $85 for the PSC tire carrier. MUCH more in line with what I was told it should be.

Exactly. The established places here acted like they couldn't care less about my business or competing on price. My best price was found when someone I knew pointed me in the direction of a new guy hungry to make a name for his new business. The front bumper turned out very good, and he's done the rest of my work to date, too.

Last I heard, he'd decided to move his shop to California, his home. I don't know what I'll do the next time I need something coated.
