Ok so the 2012 is getting the new 3.6 pentastar engine and a 5 speed auto tranny. The new engine is going to be good for about 280hp and about a 10% increase in fuel economy.. Not many other changes.. But these are for sure 100%..
Wow Sprocket, I wish I had your perfection. Do you walk on water too

Its basic logic and deduction. Chrysler is making only one Engine block for the v-6 market, so we know it will be the Pentastar. I have driven the Pentastar v-6 in the 2011 G.C and it really comes to life. Now they may change the cam for a different torque band but even if it is the same, it will be sick.

I don't think we need a V8 option in the JK. If you look at the performance of the new engine, it spanks almost all v8 numbers from engines avalible today.

String me up, but i love the evolution of the Wrangler. Yet, i don't think i'll ever use my Hill descent (which solves the complaints that the auto-tranny doesn't create enough back pressure for down hill descents).

While in Moab this year, we were following a JK with the trac-lok on 35"s, that Jk had no issues at all over any obsticle on Hell's Revenge. A great mix with the use of the Brake Assist system.

It's also been reported that there will be a "Max-Tow" option on the Rubicon Unlimited. Again, no specs on what that means for sure.

No matter what variant of the new engine it ends up becoming, its gunna be great for Jeep sales and great for the consumer!

I wish we could do a drop-in swap/ CPU flash... how awesome would that be?
