Okay, thanks. You don't like the new stuff. Thanks.

Note the original poster doesn't have a JK any more. No matter what he does he will have to buy a JK from the get go...
I think the 2012 is a great jeep and i have a freind who is in love and i drove his... much better as to the power dept and the interior dept. if i had the money i probably would get a 2012 only becasue i wouldn't want to go through the pain of the Hemi conversion BUT for someone who wants power and HAD an 08 i wouldn't take the a$$ raping that the dealer give you for a trade in and just do the conversion. With that said, i wasn't aware he didn't have the 08 anymore and thats the reason for the posts.
some people trade their 11 for 12... i wish i had spare money like that.... i think its dumb to trade in 1 year apart for 7k.... thats just me... i would spend it elseware thats for sure and thats where i'm coming from. no hate for the 12

I test drove a 2011 and a 2012 the same day before ordering my '12. After feeling the power difference I had to have the '12. I got the 6 speed manual with the stock 3.21 and wished would have got the 3.73's, but it does ok. Still a happy JK owner.

I think it was worth it. I did a great deal of research and test driving before taking the plunge. Now I keep making up excuses to go driving somewhere just to be in it.

I test drove a 2011 6 months before the Pentastar came out. I just couldn't justify leaving 80+ horsepower on the table for a short wait and with nearly identical pricing, I couldn't be happier with my choice. The Pentastar is leaps and bounds better than the outgoing 3.8 and anyone who says otherwise is simply lying to themselves.

My thoughts exactly. Anyone that says the 2012 isn't worth it is just trying to make themselves feel better about not having one.
Hope I don't find myself "hating" the 2013 ;-)

I think it depends on you and your situation. I really like the 2012 models but I've invested too much into my 07 to trade up. Don't worry 2012 owners, when the next gen releases you'll be whining too. just playin.

I have only owned two Jeeps in my time. The first was a 1975 CJ 5 with a 304 which I did a frame off restoration on. The second, my 2012 Rubicon with 4.10s. When the 2007 hit the road, I test drove it, and thought I would wait a few years for horse power improvements. Didn't think it would be 2012. I will agree that a jeep in the woods doesn't need lots of horse power with proper gearing, but most jeeps serve double duty as the weekly family car running on the street most of the time. So a jeep that is low powered with low gears to compensate may not be the better choice for the steet. The 2012 with the horse poet gain, and 4.10 gears gives up nothing in the woods, or the city. I just upgraded to 35 inch tires, and I can tell you, it's no dog with the 4.10 gears. In short, I love my 2012 Rubicon with 4.10s.

The next one I buy will be when they put a Hemi in it as a standard motor. That might take a while, even though people are sceaming for it now.

Test drove a 2012 JKU Rubi today, it's no V8 but its much better than my 09 ever was.
I'm going back tomorrow to order a 2012 JKU Rubicon, Flame Red, dual tops, AT with 4.10 gears.

I can't wait! I have had the Jeep disease for almost 20 years and it seems I just took a turn for the best!!!
