I ordered my 2012 Rubicon last week, however one question no one seems to be able to answer, or have any idea about is the front axle tubes. It's a known fact that they are a problem child when it comes to the JK's, because the wall thickness is much thinner than what was used in the older jeeps and can and does bend somewhat easily, even tho its a D44. There are many mods you can do, sleeving the tubes, adding gussets to them or changing the front axle assy totally for a heavy duty one for larger tires and moderate offroading. MY question is Has Jeep addressed this issue on the 2012's or no.???

Is this 5 spd auto proven? Thinking of going 4 door 2010 Rubi M6 to a 2 dr 2012 auto Sport..wondering if this tranny will have the "hot oil" issues when driving on the beach also.

For you guys who have already ordered, did you get final pricing? With or without the discount? Or will you only know when it shows up at the dealer? It seems to me the dealers here don't have a clue or are more interested in selling me a 2011.

That's what I would like to know. I'm guessing that by preordering we need to negotiate now as once the order is placed and locked in at a certain point, the dealers could refuse to negotiate when delivery takes place. Is 2% below invoice a good deal or could you possibly get a little better?

Nope, still a problem. If I had to do it again, I would do very cheap and easy TeraFlex C reinforcement, and then if I ever had any problems with tubes bending I would just swap in a Dynatrac housing (Really thick tubes and Cs) and call it a day.

My dealer told me pricing was in the computer, but when it came to finishing she realized it wasn't. Milous' initial post on this thread mentioned mid-July for firmer pricing. I called before I went to the dealer to verify they'd give me the -2%. Then, the salesperson only wrote "customer requests 2% below invoice" on the order. I made her change it to "dealer agrees to 2% below invoice".

I was in Norman in mid-May. Just killing time when I went into a Jeep dealership and the very friendly people there acted like they knew nothing about the new model year. Sounds like thats typical.

Latest from my dealer:

We can order 2012's now and the new colors are-
Crush-(Orange)
Dozer-(Looks like a Yellow)
Black Forrest Green (late availability)-(really dark green)
Winter Chill (late availability)-(Looks almost black)
Gecko (late availability)-(Green)
I put a description of the colors in there for you. We have paint chips here. Also there is a new engine and transmission in the 2012's. Let me know if you have any questions. Also we still don't have any pricing on the 12's yet.

I asked for a description on the Gecko, but someone will probably post the chart before I get an answer.
