I was bored and playing with the Jeep configurator on Jeep.com last night and noticed that you can't have a 6-speed manual transmission and 4:10's in a 2-door Rubicon. It requires you to spend another $1500+ for the 5-speed auto in order to upgrade to 4:10's (from 3.73's)

Am I missing something? Or has Jeep gone all Nazi with the bundled options, or are there external factors like EPA ratings that are influencing how options are bundled?

That's really dumb. Go to a dealer and see if they can order 4.10 with manual

Oh, I'm not looking to buy. I was just curious to see what was new for 2014.

I was more curious to see if other people had seem the same, or maybe I'm totally missing something and 4:10's can be ordered with a manual trans.

I just went to the website and began to build a JKUR. in the Powertrain section, the default boxes that were filled in with an X were 6 speed manual transmission and 4.10. Not sure where you were looking, but there ya go..

This is on the 2-door Rubicon model and not the Unlimited Rubicon.

I was just on the Jeep build website and if you select a manual 2 door Rubicon, it automatically selects 4.10s. I'm not sure where you're seeing this in the build specs?

Last month it was the opposite, in that according to the build site, you had to select auto in order to get 4.10s, and then it was only an option. It had since been corrected. Maybe the site temporarily reverted back???


Last Thursday I picked up the 2014 manual Rubicon 2 door I had ordered and according to the build sheet, I have a manual with 4.10s.

Must be a software gliche. My 2014 was ordered with 6mt & 4.10's. I made darn sure to order as such. My Rubi will be in next week! Happy trails!!!!

All manual Rubicons come with 4.10s standard. You can't order it any other way. Only the auto Rubicons have a choice of 3.73s or 4.10s.

Good stuff. I'll chalk it up to a fluke then. I visited the Jeep.com configurator over the span of 2-3 days and 4:10's were available if and only if you added the 5-speed automatic, on the 2-door Rubicon.
