Default Advice please

I Am ready to buy a JK unlimited. I was looking to buy a new one but there are no deals. So I'm looking used. I found a 2010 rubicon JKU 38k miles, 6-speed, hard top, navigation, and a 3" lift. Is $27k a good price? Thanks

I would wait until you can find a 2012 because of the 3.6 engine and I would buy an automatic for resale. For the most part these hold their value and you will find they want almost as much for a used one as they want for a new one. IMO

That's a great price, I would always crawl underneath and check to see if there is any dents or dings

I think that price is a good starting point. See if you can work them down a little more.

The only drawback I can think of is that if it's a plain Unlimited, it might have 3.21 gearing. I'm guessing since it's lifted it's got 33" or 35" tires on it, and the 3.21 gears (if it does indeed have 3.21's) are almost non-functional with the 3.8 engine. Yes, it will drive and feel okay, if a bit sluggish. But if you plan to do any off roading or rock crawling, or if you even want to use 6th gear on the interstate, you'll need to regear. Gas mileage will generally be horrible, I'd estimate between 12-16mpg max. Something to think about.

Oh, duh.. missed that. If that's true then that's not a bad price. In fact, it's almost cheap. Be sure to get a Carfax and check it out real good.

I was on the fence about new and used also, I waited a little longer to save for more of a down payment and just got a new one... 27000 for a used car is a bit much, I'd make the stretch and go new, you won't regret it

27k isn't high for a 2010 rubi so I say maybe go for it

That's not a bad deal at all for a Rubicon. Go for it!

27k is a good price and if that's the asking price maybe you can talk them down a little.

I paid 26k for my 08 rubicon JKU (from a dealer, great condition 58k miles, with a warranty to 100k)

So for a 2010 with less miles your in the right area.
