Any regrets on parts??
Well worth the wait. If you wanted them faster you should've ordered them from northridge. As far as I know they were in stock out there and with the free shipping they were cheaper. I waited forever for the rear one, and got the front one quickly. Patience grasshopper. That is the key.
I'm incredibly disappointed with Rugged Ridge's rear tire carrier and bumper, which was a bit of a surprise to me considering the front stubby bumper is fantastic (it went on easy, feels real stout, and the powder coating is solid). I know it's RR and made in China and expectations should be low, but I've never had so many issues with a product for my Jeep. Rugged Ridge did step up to the plate and send me a few updated replacement parts, but unfortunately they did nothing to resolve the most important flaws.
- The gate sags when opened and does not swing freely onto the latch as described in the instructions (this issue also makes the linkage kit useless). Adjusting the torque on bolts throughout the bumper as well as adding washers made little difference. As a result, using the ramp to guide the carrier up is flaking off the powder coating.
- The top surface of the rear bumper warps towards both ends where it curves around to meet the fenders, making both the pivot and latch plates lean into the gate.
- The original bumper stops that were included weren’t compatible with the stock bump stops on the gate in concert with a 35” spare tire. This was resolved with the updated replacement bumper stops.
- The bolts that came with the rear bumper to mount the D-Rings came in three different sizes, mostly short ones that weren’t usable when the tire carrier plates were added. There was no mention of these varied sizes in the instructions. This was resolved with the replacement bolts that were much longer and all the same length.
- The top bearing inside the pivot is already starting to rust.
- The latch and catch didn’t fit snugly, despite adjusting the latch plate, making the security of the carrier in a locked position questionable when the vehicle is in motion.
- Powder coating on various areas of the bumper and tire carrier have flaked off just from handling them for installation.
- The wire that holds the safety pin for the latch has come apart twice.
- The third brake light housing is severely warped (although this is easily bendable).
- I was told by their customer service department that the alignment issues with the carrier are part of the design. Although this sounds like BS to me, if this is the case, they seriously need to redesign this thing.
I wasn't sure what the problem might be, so another forum member gave me his old gas shocks to try. These shocks have 40k+ miles on them already and I am not sure what the remaining life might be. I may get a new lift kit, like a short or long arm kit or I may just buy some new shocks. I haven't decided and since I haven't had the money anyway it wasn't a priority. I paid my jeep off last month
so I should have some extra cash real soon.
actually still running it. But will be getting a superchip soon. Should of bought that first. Got the chip from 4wd.com. I'm sure they wont give me my money back or trade it out. There customer service sucks. The only reason I still buy from them is they are usually cheaper.
After using them for awhile, I wasn't thrilled with the Northridge IPF headlight kit. I haven't had ANY problems with them, don't get me wrong, but I didn't see a huge difference in before and after. Maybe it has to do with me always running with my fog lights on when my headlights are on? I could see how factory headlights without anything else may not have been as good as factory headlights + factory fog lights. I haven't removed them, but I may try and upgrade the wiring harness and put a higher wattage bulb in there to see if that helps.
Also, they got rock chips on them relatively quickly, but I don't think you can fault the product, as I would imagine any of the glass headlamp replacements would get rock chips.
I'm not looking to sell them, and I don't dislike them, but I may have spent my money on some of the other fine products at Northridge4x4 if I had to do it again.

Lets see,
Well the Bestop Saddle bag if you put more than a couple towels in it the straps rip out.
The Bestop Safari top i have given up on using the buckles and just tie knots in the straps. I also have their trail cover, which I like and use alot (boat in the garage) it seems like all their straps could be longer. But the Safari top flaps and rub and cut holes in the roll bar covers. Bestop said I must have installed it wrong. I found the hard edged metal and put rubber door edging on it.
I bought a Pavement Ends Emergency top thinking it would be a top i could in an emergency if i got caught out in the rain. well going 15 mph with this thing on it tore it self off! I stopped tried to fix it, and then it did it again. I live in Florida and when it gets below freezing we drag out old sheets and blankets and emergency tops to cover our plants.
Smitty Bilt WASP (Winch Anchor Support Platform) oh wait I am trying sell that on here. nevermind best purchase ever!!!
