I have my 60" on the hood with ACE billet mounts. Absolutely love them.

Default my 2012 Sahara

Sorry for the terrible cell phone pic, but i think it has enough info to show how i did mine.
Ordered these 3 1/2" clamp from granger. it really took longer to figure out I needed to
remove the base of the jack to make this work. I also used garden hose rubber washers
between the jack and clamp so it wouldn't rattle.

I've always had mine on the hood, I've never felt like it was in the way, you quickly forget it's even there (visually)

I use the Ace mounting bracket, I just replace the damn wing nuts with an Allen head and nylock nuts

In the glove box I have the loose single Allen wrench and a single wrench and there stuck together in place with a rare earth magnet which is gaff taped to the glove box

So for the most part, your taking something pretty heavy and attaching it to a safe location that generally gets under utilized
