I will let you know how they work out together. I ordered both the doors and this top a few days ago. I will be home in about a month and will get them on then

Sorry to hear that you and HitMoney are having issues. I've always been skeptical of the velcro on the tail gate, but I love the look of the Trektop. And, like everyone else, I was hoping for a quick, easy top...

Thanks for your info!!

I would buy one. I bought my JK with a hardtop only. I would love to get a quality softop option at a reasonable price. I hope it doesn't leak...

Bummer

I also was looking for a quick solution to riding around w/o anything and having to find shelter when surpise showers hit (been caught twice in downpours and it ain't what it's cracked up to be).

Well, until they get things "refined" I will not shell out $$$ on this.
Hopefully, Best Top sees this or possibly competitors are already working on something better.

Thumbs down

HITMONEY,

Believe me, I understand your frustration. I have been working with this top since Wednesday.

As I mentioned in my last post, the rep at Bestop said I may have the front surrounds on the wrong side. He was dead on. I swap sides and the top went on very easy. I wouldn't say its the easiest thing to install, but currently it beats anything else out there. I need a top for trips when I may get caught in the rain. I do not want a full soft top. The ones for the unlimited ar too bulky.

I agree that the back window would have been better if it were like the stock jeep setup. I did attach the velco, but I hope to have a 2 piece track made that will fit over the tailgate that I can remove. I plan to attach velco or snaps to that. If it doesn't leak too badly, I plan to keep it now.

Here are some pics. I will take some of the surrounds with the top off tomorrow and send them. Fay is giving us some good showers for me to test without venturing far from home.

If I have my hardtop off. I plan to keep my header installed. It only takes a minute to take it off and slip the top over it, then reinstall.

Road Trip

It is raining very heavy here as I mention from tropical storm Fay. The top was great going down the road at 65, 75 and 85 mph even with rain and wind gust 25-35 mph. Wind noise is minimal ... no worse than the factory soft top I tested when first looking at the 4 door. The top did not flap at all. The wind moving over the top at highway speed lifted the top keeping it very tight. The top stretched some during this drive.

There are however 2 more obstacles to overcome. I parked ouside to see if water would pool on the top because of the stretching. It does. I'm not sure how I will fix this yet.

The seam that runs across the top behind the fron doors leaks slightly. I think this can be fixed with some sealer.

As you can see I want this top to work.

Quadratec or 4wd had some supports for the bikini or soft top that I am sure would work for this. I can't remember who made them, but I have been considering a set for my jeep. If I find them, I'll post a link.

Please post if you find.

A towel above the sound bar seems to stop the pooling above the front. But, water continues to pool just in front of the rear roll bar.

Default Zuse Cover Bow

Here is what I found... It is the Zuse cover bow and can be ordered one or two at a time. ($35 for one, $65 for two)

I think one over the area over the rear seats would probably take care of things, but I might order the unlimited kit with two of them.
