I checked my the other day on my 07 X. The driver side there is no contact at all. In fact there is a good inch of space between the plastic and brake line. On the passenger side, there is about a 1/8 inch of space between the two, and the brake line shows no sign of being rubbed. I guess I lucked out.

Took mine in for recall work and they got in an accident test driving it (I was at work at the time). Then the D-bags had the nerve to try to pawn it off on MY insurance. Ended up just cutting me a check to get it repaired myself instead of fixing it. Un-freakin' believable.
that is freaking ridiculous. Not to hijack this thread and turn it into a bash the dealer thread but this reminds me of when I went in to get my rock rails installed on my liberty. normally I would have just done it myself but it was a week before the Penns woods jeep jamboree and I had no time to do it myself becasue of work. I dropped it off, picked it up several hours later. Something made me look closely at the work and I relaized that the morons didnt put the support brackets that came with the rails. It was just held on by two bolts. I went down there to bitch and got a blank stare. They said they have no idea what I am talking about. I told them to go to the dumpster, get the packaging that my rock rails came it and low and behold there are 4 large metal brackets in the bottom of the box. they through them in the dumpster. That was the last time I trusted those morons to do anything. Now I try to do everything I can myself or go to small shops. Rant over.

Yeah, I don't really want to bash anyone but they did this to themselves. My father bought a 2 door JK 2 weeks after I did....obviously never going there....My good friend just bought a 4 door Rubi....obviously never going there....My wife has a Chrysler Pacifica.....obviously never going there....I can keep going on this but I'll stop. Anyhow, I didn't want to hijack this thread but I thought it would be a good venue since this is calling out a reason for folks to take their rigs in to get the repairs done...so consider yourself forewarned if you live in Central Maryland (particularly Howard County)....there's a scheister out there.

For me, if it's not a recall (unfortunately this one is), my vehicle isn't going to a dealer. I've got the tools and know-how (read: potential overconfidence) to do most repairs/upgrades myself. What I can't do (which also has a lot to do both with time and my Commie Home Owners Association) gets directed to a small local shop that I trust. The big dealers aren't that concerned that one guy's mad at them so they lose his (or her...I know...I know) business. The little guys tend to go the extra mile to keep you coming back and that's what I'm interested in.

DOH!!! I hope this isn't considered a hijack since I keep talking about bad dealers. Tell you what. When I get my recall letter, I'll take'er in, then post back here what they say about how I bent my lines for my lift.
Deal?

Default Got the call, kinda...

Jeep Dealership, "495 Jeep", had called today, however brake lines were not the issue with my 2009 Canadian VIN. (already checked thanks to posts). the recall, tranny fluid may overheat during towing & 4wd use. "Flashpeg needs to be re-programmed". The good news, i worked in the activation for my Rubicon lights on the bumper I got from forum member "Dylanjam" for free. "Herb Chambers Jeep" in Danvers wanted to charge me $110.00 just to enter the code along with my VIN. I even tried to slip a twenty to an employee for the five minutes of his time.... he thought I was corrupting the process.

Oh, well. I just went and check the area of the problem, and yeah, it hits. But my problem is last year wheeling on Williams pass my right fender hit a tree stub and bent it a bit. So that plastic screw is gone, the fender is bent a tad and the inner fender hits the break line real good. So, I guess I might not be able to get it fixed under the recall due to slight trail damage. I will still take it in and see what happens... when I get my notice that is. Still waiting. But, I am not sure it will be fixed.

I'd like to get the notice for this one so that i can bang out all the notices (which will total to 3 - inc the mostly non-applicable tow bar one) as having being addressed for my VIN number while running it into the dealer; since they keep a record per VIN.

I looked at my brake lines, I have NO wear marks and NO place where I can see a potential for wear
