Door fires????

How can my doors catch fire if they are hanging in my garage?
I'm pretty sure they're talking about door fires on the sliding doors of minivans... that's what I got out of the article....

I wonder if there is a misprint, considering we have not even gotten to August 2010

i'll just inspect it all myself and find a way to fix it or trim it. i hate dealer visits, they almost always result in a new scratch or scuff somewhere.

How do they notify individual owners of the recall? Will people get letters?

Funny how theyhave skipped over the shitty welds on trackbar brackets, auto trannys catching fire, clunky steering, etc, etc. Don't think anyone on here has ever reported their brakeline rubbed into by the fenderliner.

Default Jeep Recall

Chrysler is recall 600,000 jeep and minivans. 288,968 jeep wranglers built between 2006 and 2010 the front inner fender liners can rub against the brake lines and cause a leak and lead to brake loss. chrysler will notify the owners and correct the problem for free. the jeeps were made between 5-15-2006 and 8-9-2010......

I hope I won't have any problem at the dealer with my brake line relocation brackets...

Tell them you did that because you were afraid that the would rub through and see if they will reimburse you for the cost of the brackets. The worst they will do is tell you "no".

Ya I have a hard time understanding how Chrysler can miss the potentially fatal steering issues that almost every JK owner goes through and then they catch the brake line issue that no one to my understanding has had problems with?? I guess it’s too costly for them to fix real issues we are experiencing.

I called the dealership to get more info on this, they had no idea that there was a recall on the JK's.
