Okay, so here is the fix: "Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall to revise the right and left front inner fender liners, add revised fender liner retaining fasteners, inspect the brake tubes for wear and replace any tubes that are found to have the corrosion protective coating compromised."

I've been toying with the idea of getting stainless steel brake lines--maybe now is the time.

Are we talking about the brake lines that hang underneath the Jeep (the ones you'd replace w/SS lines)? Or the tubing for them before the drop down to the brakes from the frame?

I'm wondering the same thing though I would guess since it specifically mentions an anti corrosion coating it must mean the metal lines not the rubber.

I caught some of that this morning. A Jeep with the build quality of a Toyota? Who would have ever thought it possible.

Woops, I'm going to blame a poorly written article, rather than my own inability to read properly.

I heard all they were going to do was remove the liners. Looks like they're only made of thin plastic, you could just notch them or remove them yourself and save the trip to the dealers.

No, no no! Its for a tow bar, so whatever you're towing your Jeep with may take off on you!

This is for the "hard" lines that run from your master cylinder, to the brackets at the frame where you would connect your aftermarket/extended lines. The fenderwell sometimes rubs against the lines at the point where the lines cross the frame.

BTW, the revised inner fender liner fasteners mentioned above are a different design. I lost both of mine and could only find them at the dealer. They were about .30 a piece, but a larger diameter and seem to work much better. I believe they are OEM installed sometime in '09, but mine didn't get them.
