500 km, 2 weeks... been checking every passing Jeep out for the last 5 years, thought if this insanity doesn't go away I'll have to buy one. So finally here we go, flame red 2012 JK Sport 2 door, Auto, Renegade package. Still have the old Suzuki Swift, thought I'll drive it to shops and work until sold. Never touched it since I've got the Jeep..
Enjoying the feeling of being tall, big and powerful on the road around all the minis and carollas. Still to take it off-road, couldn't find anywhere I could get off the pavement in Sydney.
The "Jeep thing" stuff that I just had to accept were a few. Apparently they import only renegade packaged ones to Australia so you get a Jeep with a soft top inside the hard top. Now I must find a special screw driver and someone to help me to remove the hard top to remove the soft top and reinstall the hard top back. Then there are rather sizable part left to store. Petrol consumption is double of that of my old Suzuki, was shocking to watch it going 40, 50, 60 (litres) at the pump, but it was expected. Only 2 passengers at the back and very hard for them to get in and out. Very little space in the boot. I guess best would be to remove the back seat at all and think of it as a two seater.
Any "classmates" around Sydney (Australia)?
Cheers.

1300 miles on the ODO, about 6500 miles on the TIRES
i ran into the vac pump relocation when i mounted the tow bar base plates.
ive done:
gutter guard grill mod
installed new MB Quart Speakers, (head unit, amp & sub are will follow by the time the sat radio runs out),
installed some 8 inch lightforce 170s on the A-Pillar
added the <cheap> receiver hitch (to haul mountain bikes on a 2" recv'r bike rack)
some carling switches on the dash for the lights and future mods
added a spiderweb shade (highly recommend and probably the best mod)

I've always been an aficionado of MB Quart speakers... what model did you use and did you have to do much in the way of modifying to fit them? I have the Infinity system that came with the vehicle and not really looking to changing out the head unit but was toying the idea of changing out the speakers. I know with past vehicles... though the manufacturer puts the Infinity, Rockford Fosgate, or Alpine names on the system... usually it means the system was designed by that organization but the actual components are not products of Infinity, RF, or Alpine etc...
Also, when you mentioned moving the vacuum pump... I think that also needs to be done for some of the aftermarket front bumpers. Is that what you were referring to?
