Door less + kids
I just wonder what other people do who own an unlimited and go door less with Kids.
My kids are 9 & 8 years old. I am thinking I need to get some tube doors for the kids in the back seat. I am wondering what other people with kids do who own an unlimited.
Up until now I haven't removed the doors, but this year it's time.

My kids are still in Booster Seats and I'm with you and keeping the doors on. I considered tube doors but that still leaves a lot of open space. I'm currently looking at netting to attach when I take them off.
I only have one daughter so I strap her booster seat in the middle. She loves riding with no doors however I avoid highways when riding like that with her. If i had 2 kids and they were to be seated near the edge then I would definately look at tube/safari doors and or netting.
My kids are 15, 10 and 8 and I've taken all doors off several times. On serious trails, or highways, I'm more comfortable with the rear doors on, but in-town or on light trails, it hasn't been a problem. From a safety perspective, tube doors or no doors won't make too much of a difference. Just my

PS: Kids love driving doorless.

My kids are 13,11,8 and i will ride them around town with out the doors on but i will not take them on the highway ( places with speed limits over 35 ) except my oldest who can ride in the front with me and i am not too worried she will jump out! My younger two are boys and they think the jeep is a jungle gym.. i am always finding them climbing around on top of the roll bars in the driveway..
I do think the tube doors would help some..

I've seen it done with children aged 13+. My own 2 and 4 forget it. I know Chrysler says our Jeeps provide no impact protection like a regular car would but still a door is still a barrier.
Almost a +1 for rock rails. I think those heavy rock rails would add some level of side impact protection.

I am not worried about side impact. I do have rails so I am not too worried there. I am more worried about the kids jumping out/falling out. My daughter the older one loves taking off the shoulder strap and hanging out the window like my dog.
I do not plan on going anywhere with speed with them in the back.
I am thinking just a set up with rear tube doors possibly. Then when they are older just sell the tube doors.

as same as the others here, i ride door less but have incorporated the safari tube doors just for state of mind. both mywife and me feel comfortable enough to drive around town with both our 11 year old daughter and 10 month old daughter in her off road car seat. however, if we go places where we exceed speeds of 35-40 mph, such as highways, we put the doors on. but for just farting around town, my daughters love it.
