Default Flatbed only decal?

I park in Boston quite often. I've never been towed before, but I've seen many 4wd vehicles snactched up by those tow companies. Problem is, these guys don't care. If they can tow you, they will, and they'll get your vehicle any way possible.

Even if you have 4wd, they'll tow it with a wrecker (and they're mean with them... they'll just chain up your vehicle, drag it with the E-brake on around the corner, then there they'll open your car up to pull the E-brake).

I heard there's a decal you can buy somewhere, to put near the VIN. It says something like "Flatbed towing only". I guess it makes the tow company Liable for your vehicle, if any wrecker towing damage occurs?

Know where to get it?

Do you really believe a sticker will stop them. I don't.

I just want it for liability. Putting it near the VIN would be fair warning. At that point they're responsible for handling my property.

Like I've said, I'm usually a responsible parker. But in the event that something like that does happen, I want to be able to point fingers.

No, at least i dont, but if they tow it and do so incorrectly, it may aid in making them liable for damages. I would think a silly little decal might be worth the effort if it helped to mitigate potentially thousands of dollars in damage.

that'd be my 2c.

common misconception on the rules. The link is fine, just dont make it clickable (leave off the "www." part of it) and your cool.

Good luck, if you are illeagally parked, the city has a right to tow you vehicle at YOUR expense. that means they are not liable for your screw up.
