Default Good replacement HORN for JK???

I've never really cared about horns and how they sound on my prior rides. But the horn on my '10 Rubi seems to lack the 'tude that the exterior professes. Anyone know of a good choice for swapping out the stock horn?

I went with the PIAA 400/500 mhz dual horn setup. It's a bit louder and has a tiny bit better overall sound to it. I will one day go to an air horn probably...that'll make em jump for sure!

Default wrecking yard?

wrecking yards are a good resource for late ,or early model horns. horn of choice would be a caddy? nice quality..and loud, yet refined. plus its kind of fun to restore w/paint or whatever. alot of people have tried this w/excellent results, and the price is right

x2 on that train horn link! I had a much larger 3 piece horn setup on my old Bronco, but it would never fit in the JK. I may just order these sleeker horns and do what he did!

My brother had those on his '83 camaro. It was blue until he found 3 cans of black spray paint. Then it was black with a little bit of blue showing through . I loved that POS... the horn just made it so much better!

As for the airhorns, I grabbed a set off of a Semi in a junk yard. I was 16, and thought I'd hook it up to one of those cheap airhorn sets... those little pumps won't work on a real 16"/18" trumpet...

I don't like the little plastic horns, they have too high a pitch. I'd like to try the real airhorn setup, with compressed air tank and all.

The horns I have on mine are plastic and the pitch is not high at all. Everyone thinks they are real trainhorns. I also have a compressor and air tank. As you said...the ones that use a pump that pump air directly into the horn really don't sound great at all.

Simple, get a 30 to 50 PA speaker. Who needs a horn when you can verbally tell someone what's on your mind!? Best investment ever! I love mine.
