Default Grille Badge Removal

I am going to replace the chrome Jeep emblem on the grille of my 2013 JKU with a satin black emblem. Can anyone who has removed one of these tell me the best method for getting all the foam adhesive off? I'm thinking a little heat might help. Any input is appreciated.

Use fishing line for the emblem and most of the adhesive then goo-gone or wd-40. It should work fine, it pulled up my decals.

X2. Just did this about three months ago. Fishing line worked great, and the Goo Gone removed he rest of the adhesive. I made a few erasable marks so I could line up the new emblem properly. It is advisable to test the Goo Gone on your finish first, like the inside of the grill or some other inconspicuous place.

3M makes an adhesive remover. Works great. If you have braid fishing line, it works even better, just be sure to wrap it around something other than your fingers. I'm doing the same thing As soon as my jeep gets out of the body shop, thanks to some scumbag thief.

Thumbs up

I just did this today! I heated them up a little then took the ol'lady's thin dish scrapper and they came right off. Three of them took all the adhesive off and then I used WD 40 and Goof Off to take the rest off. Mine have been on there since 2007 and now it looks amazing! Quit reading and just go do it, you will be pleased....

Beat me to it, that's what I used and it worked fine. After that I used "goo-gone" and a wash cloth.
