Hit & Run
So, I had my Jeep parked on the side of the road last night for about an hour then moved it back into the driveway after my fiancee got home. I got to work this morning and shut the door but the sound just didn't sound right. I turned around to see a big dent and cracked paint on my driver side door and frame. Although its not a whole lot of damage, it's going to be a considerable price tag to fix because they'll have to repaint the door and the frame as well as take out the dents. Today's just been a crappy day; my shower broke this morning too.

I hope it works out for you. That really sucks.
My wife hit a car last year when the owner wasn't around. There is absolutely no way that they ever would have known who did it. We didn't think twice about skipping out on it though. Just not ethical. We left a note with all of our info.
Something will catch up to the guy that did that to your Jeep.

That sucks. I had that happen a few years back when I was in Florida. You can only hope their car has more damage.
Last week a friend of mines wife hit a car accidentally up the road from where she works. No one was around and she didn't know who's car it was. She left a note. 2 hours later she got a call FROM THE POLICE. The jerkoff called the cops. When she got back to the scene she got a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident. AND the girl was someone she worked with. I think it's messed up that she called the cops. Then they went together to bodyshops to get estimates like too girlfriends shopping.

Hit and run drivers are THE scum of the earth. Honestly... nothing pushes my buttons more than hearing about hit and run accidents. If you hit somebody's vehicle, you are responsible for leaving a note. They shouldn't have to pick up the tab.
Last year, 5 weeks after I got my pickup, I was parked at work. I work at a 24 hour CVS, and was on the late shift. At midnight, while my shift was over, and as I was walking towards my new baby, i saw a glimmer of light bouncing off the bed just right. My heart sank, and I ran over to her. Some A-hole did a number on it, driving down the WHOLE length of the the bed. No note... Nothing... Cops couldn't do anything because it "occured on private property" Pff...
Anyways, a $500 deductible later (I'm in college... $500 is something I have to work weeks to get... I actually had to put my savings into it, savings I was going to put toward the interest on my college loans), it was fixed. I hoped my work would pick up the tab, since I was on the clock, but NOPE... No proof that it occured in their lot.
Now they cut my hours from 18 a week to 6... Please, do me and other CVS employees a favor. If you get your prescriptions filled with CVS, have them transferred to Walgreens, Walmart, or some other store. They don't take care of their employees at all. They owe me several hundred dollars in back pay (and several of my co-workers as well). It's a scum company!

hmmm got a ticket?? oklahoma's driving manual instructs you to leave a note with name DL# insurance company and phone number if the other party isn't around. i'd look into getting that ticket dropped and kicking that cop in the nuts.
UPDATE:
Although not great news yet, I found out that me neighbor across the street's son was dropped off by one of his friends during the same time my Jeep was parked on the side of the road. Fortunately, he's not one of the punk kids (just dresses the part) and said that he would talk to his friend. I'm going to stop back over there tomorrow and talk to his Dad just so he knows what's going on, but hopefully there'll be a resolution soon. With a wedding coming up soon, $500 is a lot of money to part with. So, hopefully this kid will step up and take the wrap.
Also, I got the shower fixed. I just had to put a new faucet w/ diverter in. Should be good to go in the morning when the caulk is dry.
Anyway, I'll keep ya'll posted.
