Hit & Run
I went in for the insurance estimate this morning $1255! When I brought it to the dealer, they said they might need to get me a whole new door. So, I'm bringing it in next Tuesday for them to do the fix... they said it'll take about 5 days to finish everything. $500 out of my pocket... sure wish the kid would just fess up to it!

No Jeep for the next week.
Dropped it off at the body shop this morning. Enterprise gave me an 08 Chevy Colorado to drive. Not the best but better than a Neon. I just hope the Jeep comes back looking like new. I'll post pics when I get it back.

Thats just horrid, find out if anyone has a security camera on your block. If so get the tape and take to to the police. Call the police any way and report it. You will need the report for insurance any way.
A few years ago we were parked in a mall parking lot.
I was sitting in the car with the kids, wife was making a quick trip (NOT) when a car pulls up and parks next to us on the driver side. A dad and his kid talk for a moment (dad) driving.
The kid about 15 opens the door hitting my door hard enought to really piss me off, he didn't even attempt to be careful, and just kept moving.
I got out and said "What the F*&^ do you think you're doing, do you think it's ok to bang peoples doors!" I don't know who was more scared the kid or the dad. I should have gotten in to the dads face and told him what I thought of his lack of child raising skills. The kid appologised but the dad didn't say a word. If that was my kid I would have been all over him and he would pay for the repairs.
These are the people who ding everyone elses Jeeps, cars, and trucks.
There was no damage to our car, the point is the lack of respect for other peoples property just like the hit and run.

the $hit just got deeper. My insurance agent called. The body shop needs to replace the door and hinges, which will require that all badges and front fender is removed to blend the paint. Apparently whoever hit me, hit me with enough force to bend the door. The top hinge was bent out of place. So, now this aggrevates me even more because there's no way that the person didn't know they hit me!
Bastards.
