How to approach dealer....
I found a sized ding on the top of my door with the paint chipping and cracking. I noticed it a few hours after I picked my jeep up from the dealer after it had been there for nearly a week. How do I approach them without "blaming" them. Anyone have this happen to them?

Good luck. The day after I got mine a friend noticed a dent in the a/c condenser, however it wasn't leaking.I only had 15 miles on it.The dealer would not cover it.He did offer to paint it black so it wouldn't be visible.

Tell them you noticed it and ask them for help. No blame, a what can you do for me type of deal. They will not repaint your door for free that will never happen so you have to go in with a certain expectation of what you really would want vs perfect world and hope for the best. They owe you nothing as EVERYONE should do a full inspection/walkaround with the salesperson BEFORE you drive off the lot.
Maybe touch up paint and a buff? A discount/their cost on a full door repaint and blend?
Good luck no matter what!

Most dealers have a dent specialist visit once or twice a week. You could ask them if at the very least they could have it fixed at their cost, should be a lot cheaper then having it done on your own.
They may offer to take care of it.

Yes that is an idea....I know when I took our Dodge Magnum in for service....as soon as I got home I noticed a slice in our Leather seats like a knife or screwdriver puncture. They told me they will repair when their leather repair specialist came in. Also, they gave me a free oil change and Hemi coffee mug for the damage. I never hurts to complain...but have a good attitude.

Thanks. I'm going to try it then. I really don't care about a little wear and tear here and there, but it is pretty noticable as it is at eye level when I open my door. And there's no paint there any more. Will shoot for something I guess.

Dents are always a little easier to except and look at when you are the one who did it, at least for me anyway.
