Yea Im very glad Im not paying out the ass for this, Im still unsure on how it happend I would like to know for sure even though this is almost impossible. Just thinking of ways to avoid this from happening again, minus the obvious. What vaccum lines are you guys taliking about the ones from the diffs? B/C they were connected before although I will mostly likely replace my diff oil when I get it back just to be safe.
I don't have the part number anymore, I ordered it from O'Reilly's. It took them awhile to figure out how to get it. They had to call Airaid to get the match for the jk, then call their warehouse to order it special. The Pre-filter fits on numerous filters. Somewhere on this forum was a part number, I had it on a little piece of paper somewhere, if I find it I'll post it.

They have to order a short block pretty much just the bottom of the engine from the heads down, no time frame on when I ll get my baby back but hey at least Im not paying for it. LESSON LEARNED
Dude, you dodged a big one. Now, keep that beast out of deep mud or get a sealed airbox/snorkle to go bogging in. Now get to church and say 6 thank you's.

So acouple months back me and my old lady went for a trail ride with my 08 jk and there was a little mud hole so i went for it i guess being new to jeeping i went to fast and splashed water into the intake witch caused my engine to stall and die right at the end of the water/mud it was about 15in deep when i called the dealership they said no way they would ever cover that. So i went online to read more about this problem. Turns out the jeep website says that the wrangler can go into 19in of water without a problem. Many videos show this. I called the main office and they told me to read my owners manual so i did and sure eoungh it says that they will not cover anything that has to do with water ingestion. I had to have it coved by my insureince it cost over 5000 to get the jeep back to brand new. Now im so scared to hurt it i just mall crawl.

Once upon a time : Water got into your intake. This muddy water was conveniently cleaned by you CAI filter and it's first stop was into the crank case breather tube. This tube runs from the valve cover and attaches to the CAI tube 2 inches from the filter. Water that enters this crank case breather tube runs directly into the valve cover and straight into the oil stream. End of Story.
